How can I sign-up for an address?

There are three ways you can sign up for a mailbox with us: you can walk in with a government-issued picture-ID and complete the application form, at which point we will assign you a Suite number for your exclusive use. You can also visit our website, www.nymail.com, and click “DOWNLOAD FORMS” and print them out, complete them, and then scan and email or fax us the application with a copy of your ID. Finally, you can visit our website and sign-up using the online application.

Once you assign me a Suite number, how would I use it?

Under the business plan, you can receive mail under your personal name and/or your business name. Therefore, your address would be as follows:

Please note that correspondence addressed to you without a Suite number will cause a delay with respect to receiving your mail. On rare occasions, the post office may inadvertently redirect your mail elsewhere. To ensure timely receipt of your mail, please notify all of your correspondents to include your Suite number.

What is the 1583 form and why am I required to fill it out?

The 1583 form is an official United States Postal Service document that allows us to receive mail on your behalf. Without that form, we would be unable to accept your mail.

What forms of ID do you accept?

Government Driver’s Licenses, passports, passport cards, permanent green cards, and any other government-issued picture-ID.

How long after I submit a complete application will I get my Suite number?

If you sign-up in person, within 15 minutes. If you sign-up online, we will assign you a Suite number within the hour.

Can I use my address to incorporate a company with the Secretary of State?

Can I open a bank account with my address? Can I apply for credit cards using my address?

Yes, you can up bank accounts and apply for credit cards using this address.

Do I need to show ID when I come to pick-up my mail?

Once we assign you a Suite number, we issue you an ID card with your Suite number. You simply need to show that card and someone will retrieve your mail. In the absence of that card, you can show us your ID.

When I get a package, will I be notified?

If we are required to sign for the package when accepting it, we send you a real-time email notification at your preferred email address.

Can I find out if I have mail before making a trip to your office?

Yes, instructions will be provided, there is a Mail Checker number that you can call on weekdays at 1PM in order to find out whether you have mail.

I live in Massachusetts so I cannot come in to pick-up mail. Do you have mail forwarding options?

Yes, we do forward mail anywhere. Additional charges apply.

I'm expecting a very important piece of mail. The Mail Checker says I have mail. If I call your office can someone check to see whether I received the piece of mail I was waiting for?

Yes, you can call our office to find out if the letter you looking for has arrived or not.

Is there a storage fee for every package that I may receive?

You may receive packages from all major carriers. There are, however, handling and inventory charges associated with packages.

Mail received under any additional name is charged $10.00 additional per month.

Do you forward packages as well?

We use our UPS, FedEx and DHL accounts to forward packages. We cannot use customers’ account numbers. All packages are charged a storage fee depending upon their size and weight. We require enough deposit on hand prior to forwarding packages (to be used against shipping & handling costs). Rate/Price subject to change.

How does mail forwarding works?

For an additional $10.00 per month, you can decide how often you want to receive your mail. We offer weekly, bi-monthly and monthly forwarding to national and international customers. Customers bear the cost of postage; we require a refundable postage deposit against which to forward mail.

How does mail scanning work and what is the cost?

The cost for mail scanning is an additional $20.00 per month. Each day we scan and email you a preview of your mail. We can open and scan the content for an additional 50 cents per page.

Will you open and scan the contents of my mail automatically?

No. Once we send you the preview you can request content scanning at a cost of 50 cents per page.

How soon after requesting you to open the mail will I receive a response?

Within one business day we will accommodate the request. All requests must be received within business hours.

Is there charge for asking to shred the mail?

There is no charge to discard/shred the mail.

How long do you store the mail after you send the preview of the mail?

We store mail as long as the account is paid. Customers can pick up their mail, have it forwarded, or request us to shred it.

Can I request mail forwarding after receiving the scan for the day?

yes, if you are a mail forwarding customer, Otherwise, one -time mail forwarding charges apply.

When I get a package, will I be notified?

For packages that require a signature and incur a daily charge, we will send you a real-time email notification with the sender and the tracking number.

Is there a storage fee for every package that I may receive?

For packages that we have to sign for, there is a storage fee that depends on the size and weight of the package.

Is there a limit to the size or weight of a package I can receive?

Due to capacity, we can only accept packages that weight up to 50lbs.

How do I retrieve faxes from a fax machine?

Follow the instructions from a Fax Phone – Dial your Fax number from a Fax phone. – Interrupt the ring by pressing the Star button (*) – Enter your 4 digit Pin Code choosen at the time of signup – The prompt will tell you “Number of New Faxes” – Press 1 ,wait for 2 seconds and then press the Start button on the fax machine

Someone sends a fax to your 212 fax to email number, you receive the fax as an email attachment in your email.
